The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions has proposed a six-month suspension for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central.
The recommendation comes in response to her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Presenting the committee’s report during Thursday’s plenary session, Chairman Senator Neda Imasuen stated that Akpoti-Uduaghan was found guilty of all allegations against her. He noted that she had failed to appear before the legislative committee for a review of her conduct.
As part of the committee’s recommendations, her salary and security details should be withdrawn for the duration of the suspension.
