Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger has showered praise on Barcelona’s young winger, Lamine Yamal, lauding the 17-year-old for his remarkable performances for the Blaugrana.
Rüdiger expressed his admiration ahead of the highly anticipated El Clásico clash between the two Spanish giants.
In a statement shared on Fabrizio Romano’s X handle on Friday, Rüdiger said, “What Lamine is doing is ridiculous! You have to give him credit.
He plays for Barcelona at 17, what he did at the Euros… I hope he stays healthy, he has a brilliant future.”
He added, “It’s pretty scary what he’s doing, to be fair!”
Yamal, who has already featured in 61 matches for Barcelona’s first team, has contributed significantly to the team’s success with 26 goal involvements (12 goals and 14 assists).
He was instrumental in Barcelona’s run last season under Xavi and played a key role in Spain’s victory at Euro 2024.
The teenager has continued his fine form into the new season, contributing 10 goals in as many appearances under new coach Hansi Flick.
Real Madrid will host Barcelona at the Bernabeu on October 26, 2024, as they look to defend their La Liga title in what promises to be another thrilling El Clásico.
