After a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, Real Madrid have turned their attention to Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League showdown against city rivals Atletico Madrid.
The European champions will travel to the Metropolitano for the second leg of their Round-of-16 tie, holding a 2-1 advantage from the first leg. Ahead of the crucial clash, Carlo Ancelotti’s side has received a significant boost.
As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Antonio Rudiger and Thibaut Courtois have returned to training, strengthening Madrid’s squad for the high-stakes Euroderbi.
Rudiger missed the Rayo Vallecano match due to illness, while Courtois was sidelined with muscular discomfort. However, both were always expected to recover in time for the Atletico fixture, and their return to training confirms their availability.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo Goes picked up minor knocks during Sunday’s game but are expected to be fit for the derby.
With their key players returning, Real Madrid will head into Wednesday’s clash at near full strength, though Dani Carvajal, Dani Ceballos, Eder Militao, and Jesus Vallejo remain sidelined due to injury.
