The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale has announced that he will be taking an indefinite leave of absence to address urgent health issues within his immediate family.
The announcement was made through a statement released on Saturday.
In his role as the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Ngelale also served as the Official Presidential Spokesperson, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
His decision to step back from these responsibilities comes after careful consideration and discussions with his family, prompted by the deteriorating health of a close family member.
The Chief of Staff to the President was officially informed of Ngelale’s leave of absence on Friday, where he submitted a memo explaining his need to focus on the pressing medical matters affecting his family.
Ngelale emphasized that his duties would be paused until further notice.
While recognizing the importance of his role within the administration, Ngelale conveyed his deep regret at having to temporarily step away from his national duties.
He expressed hope for a return to service once circumstances improve.
He also asked for privacy for his family during this challenging time.
