President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday to participate in the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates from January 12 to 18.
A statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Friday confirmed that the president is attending the event at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
Themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” ADSW 2025 will bring together global leaders, policymakers, business executives, and civil society stakeholders to explore innovative pathways toward accelerating sustainable development and socioeconomic transformation.
Held annually for over 15 years, the summit serves as a global platform fostering collaboration among governments, industries, and clean energy pioneers. It has facilitated high-value agreements and strategic partnerships that have advanced the global sustainability agenda.
During the event, President Tinubu will highlight his administration’s reforms in key areas such as energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development. He will also engage with UAE leadership to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest.
The President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other top government officials. He is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
