President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressed deep sorrow following the death of Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, the Sarkin Sasa and Chairman of the Council of Arewa Traditional Leaders in the 17 southern states.
Sarkin Sasa, who passed away at the age of 125, was laid to rest over the weekend in Sasa, located in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the passing of the esteemed traditional leader as a significant loss to the nation.
The President praised Alhaji Maiyasin for his invaluable role in promoting peace and unity among Nigerians, acknowledging his lasting impact on the country’s social fabric.
President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Sarkin Sasa, the people and governments of Oyo and Katsina states, and the leaders of Arewa communities across the southern region.
