Authorities in Nasarawa State have commenced a full-scale investigation into the abduction of Barrister Yusuf Musa, Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Information.

The spokesperson for the Nasarawa State Police Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Tuesday.

“At about 03:05hrs, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a patrol team from B Division, Lafia, discovered a Peugeot pick-up van with all doors left wide open in a suspicious manner,” Nansel stated.

He added that further inspection revealed the gate to the victim’s residence was ajar, prompting immediate concern. “A swift search of the premises confirmed that Barr. Yusuf Musa was missing, along with his GMC vehicle, bearing registration number KUJ 88 PA, raising strong suspicion of an abduction,” he said.

In response to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Shetima Mohammed, has activated a coordinated tactical operation. Police divisions across the state—including Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, and Kadarko—have been placed on high alert, with surveillance units deployed along key routes to track and intercept the suspects.

The Commissioner also ordered a statewide manhunt and reiterated the Command’s firm resolve to rescue the victim unharmed and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Command has urged residents to remain calm but vigilant and called on anyone with useful information to report to the nearest police station.
