Ogun State police authorities are investigating the mysterious death of Inspector Haruna Mohammed, whose lifeless body was discovered in a hotel room in Akute.
His female companion, who checked into the hotel with him in the early hours of Saturday, February 15, 2025, is currently missing.
According to reports, the late officer and the unidentified woman arrived at Super G Royal Hotel, located at 11 Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute, around 1:00 am.
However, by 8:52 am, the hotel manager, Deborah Adejobi, found their room unlocked and upon checking inside, discovered Mohammed’s lifeless body.
Further details revealed that at around 6:00 am, the woman had visited the hotel reception to request table water. Hours later, she was nowhere to be found when the body was discovered.
The hotel owner, Abiodun Olagunju, promptly reported the incident to the police, leading detectives to visit the scene.
The officer’s body was removed and deposited at Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe. A police camouflage uniform bearing his rank and name was found in his bag.
Authorities have described the death as unnatural, and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the hotel manager has been taken in for questioning, and efforts are being made to locate the missing woman.
