The Kaduna State Police Command, under Operation Fushin Kada, has successfully arrested six suspected kidnappers, a cattle rustler, and five individuals involved in vandalism. The operations also led to the recovery of a locally made firearm and charms.
According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, four members of a kidnapping syndicate were apprehended on November 12 in Rahama Village, Dutsen Wai Village, and surrounding areas.
The suspects—Yahaya Abdullahi, Shamsu Ibrahim, Linus Obasi, and Hauwa Mohammed, all from Dutsen Wai Village in Kubau LGA—were arrested in connection with the abduction of a woman from Rahama Village. Abdullahi admitted to conspiring with Ibrahim to kidnap the woman, who was held in Obasi’s brothel under Mohammed’s watch until a ₦3 million ransom was paid for her release.
In a separate operation on November 6, officers in Ikara LGA apprehended two members of a notorious gang responsible for several kidnappings and robberies. The suspects, Surajo Hassan and Abdulhadir Usman confessed to multiple crimes, including one case where a victim was held captive for 60 days before an ₦8 million ransom was paid. Both men revealed they had received ₦1 million each as their share.
On November 13, 2024, a 27-year-old cattle rustler, Audu Abdullahi, was arrested in Kujama. Abdullahi confessed to being part of a syndicate that operates with AK-47 rifles and other weapons. A subsequent search in a nearby bush resulted in the recovery of a locally made firearm and charms.
In another operation, officers responded to a distress call from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service at the Trade Fair Complex, leading to the arrest of three suspects—Salisu Mohammed, Mohammed Abubakar, and Aliyu Isah—caught vandalising armoured cable wires. The suspects admitted to the crime and named Abubakar Garba and Isiaku Abdullahi as receivers, who were also apprehended.
