Speaking at the signing ceremony on Monday, Oyebanji highlighted the government’s commitment to achieving revenue targets to fully implement the ambitious programs and projects outlined in the budget.
“In the 2025 fiscal year, we shall strive to meet our revenue targets to ensure the implementation of all the ambitious programs and projects in the budget. We will also further strengthen our relationships with development partners and seek support for specific projects in the state,” he said.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of public servants, noting that the implementation of the minimum wage began in December 2024.
“As the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected. We hope our public servants will reciprocate this gesture through greater dedication to duty and the delivery of optimal quality service,” Oyebanji added.
He also emphasized the continued prioritization of senior citizens’ welfare, with significant progress made in settling pension and gratuity arrears.
“To date, we have settled outstanding gratuities owed to civil servants amounting to ₦5.6 billion, thereby reducing the backlog by four years. We remain committed to timely payment of pensions and gratuities,” he stated.
The Governor announced that the detailed breakdown of the 2025 Appropriation Law would soon be presented by the Honourable Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management.
The budget reflects the administration’s focus on sustainable development and improving the quality of life for residents of Ekiti State.
