Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek has offered fresh insight into the club’s ongoing transfer efforts, with particular focus on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, whose future remains undecided despite a significant offer from the Turkish champions.
Speaking during the club’s 25th Championship Night event in Bodrum, Ozbek updated supporters on their current transfer dealings. He emphasized that while negotiations are underway, the decision to join Galatasaray ultimately lies with Osimhen.
The Super Eagles forward, who was instrumental during his loan spell last season by helping the club to a league and cup double, is yet to respond to Galatasaray’s proposal, which would mark a record-breaking deal for the Istanbul-based side.
The delay in Osimhen’s decision is reportedly affecting the club’s broader transfer strategy.
Despite this, Ozbek assured fans that the team is also exploring multiple options for a new goalkeeper and intends to retain the core of the current squad for the upcoming campaign.
Victor Osimhen, currently on holiday and recently seen at a charity match in Lagos organized by fellow Nigerian international William Troost-Ekong, has remained tight-lipped about his next move.
In a recent interview, the forward noted he is in no rush to make a decision, choosing instead to enjoy his break.
Galatasaray remains determined to secure Osimhen’s permanent return and is prepared to exceed its previous transfer spending records.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, whose lucrative offer was rejected by Osimhen for a second consecutive summer, are reportedly still pursuing the striker and are expected to return with an improved bid.
As Galatasaray looks ahead to a season targeting domestic and European success, the club continues to work behind the scenes to finalize its squad, with Osimhen’s verdict seen as pivotal to their plans.
