The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, announced the temporary closure of the institution, effective Monday, January 13, 2025, until further notice.
This decision follows a protest by students opposing the school’s directive to verify National Diploma (ND) results from their previous institutions.
In a statement issued in Abeokuta, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, emphasized the administration’s commitment to maintaining integrity in its academic processes.
“Management has a zero-tolerance policy for fake results from any source.
Consequently, students are advised to stay away from the campus for their safety.
Parents and the general public are assured of timely updates as the situation evolves,” Ajibola stated.
The students are also protesting other issues, including an alleged increase in tuition fees and delays in the mobilisation of Higher National Diploma (HND) students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The management reiterated its focus on ensuring the safety of lives and property during this period of unrest.
