Corps members under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will begin receiving an increased monthly allowance of N77,000 starting in February 2025, according to the Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed.

Ahmed made this announcement on Thursday while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State.

He assured them that the new allowance had already been factored into the 2025 Federal Government budget and would be implemented once the budget is passed.

He explained that since January had already ended, the adjustment would take effect from February, replacing the previous N33,000 stipend.

Reaffirming the government’s dedication to the welfare of corps members, Ahmed urged them to reciprocate the support by serving diligently in their assigned locations.

He also addressed security concerns, reassuring corps members that they would not be posted to high-risk areas.

He emphasized that all deployment locations would be carefully selected to ensure their safety and security throughout their service year.
