Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, refuted claims of a rift between him and Governor Monday Okpebholo, describing the speculation as baseless and the work of mischief makers.
Speaking at a meeting with the Edo Parliament of Nigeria at the Government House in Benin, Idahosa reaffirmed his cordial relationship with the governor, likening it to that of an elder and younger brother.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, Idahosa assured residents that the Okpebholo-led administration remains focused on delivering good governance and improving the lives of Edo people.
“I appreciate my principal, Senator Okpebholo, for finding me worthy to be his deputy,” he said.
“We need your support and prayers, and we know that many of you are professionals.
When we require your ideas and contributions, we trust you will be there for us,” he continued.
The deputy governor urged citizens to ignore false reports and instead focus on the administration’s efforts to drive development.
“We are committed to fostering physical and human capital development while prioritizing the interests of Edo people above all else,” he added.
“This administration, under Senator Okpebholo, is truly for the people of Edo,” Idahosa concluded.
