The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has inaugurated five Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) mini-plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, aimed at enhancing gas availability across the country.
The newly launched facilities—PRIME LNG, NGML/Gasnexus LNG, BUA LNG, Highland LNG, and LNG Arete—will source natural gas from existing pipelines running through the Ajaokuta area. Their primary feedstock will be supplied via the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline, a key infrastructure project under construction by the Federal Government.
These mini-plants are expected to provide gas to regions currently lacking access to gas infrastructure, supporting the government’s efforts to expand energy availability nationwide.
