Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged stakeholders to maintain and expand investment in the nation’s young people, describing them as pivotal to building “a more connected, just, and sustainable world.”
In her message marking this year’s International Youth Day, celebrated on August 12 under the theme Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation Through Technology and Partnerships, Mrs. Tinubu emphasised the need to amplify young people’s voices and support their initiatives.
“Nigerian youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are shaping the solutions of today and the future,” she said.
The First Lady noted that by embracing digital tools and forging strategic partnerships, young Nigerians are driving inclusive dialogue and tackling global challenges ranging from technology and economic disparities to climate change and healthcare.
She commended their strength and creativity, highlighting their visible contributions in innovation, enterprise, and advocacy.
“Let us continue to invest in our youth, amplify their voices, and support their efforts to build a more connected, just, and sustainable world,” Senator Tinubu added.
Mrs. Tinubu stressed that equipping young people with skills, opportunities, and platforms would further strengthen their role as key drivers of both national development and global progress.
