Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda has officially taken over as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, succeeding Ibrahim Abubakar Kana. During the handover ceremony, Aduda pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessor and improve the Ministry’s overall performance.
A statement by the Ministry’s spokesman, Henshaw Ogubike, quoted Aduda as describing his new role as a “homecoming,” given his military background and familiarity with military veterans. “Destiny has brought me back,” Aduda remarked, highlighting his deep connection to the defence sector.
Addressing the Ministry’s staff, Aduda emphasized the importance of honesty, commitment, courage, and excellence in service delivery. He assured them of his dedication to staff welfare and urged their full cooperation. “I do not joke with the welfare of my staff,” he stated, while encouraging a collaborative approach to achieve the Ministry’s goals.
Aduda’s appointment marks a new chapter for the Ministry as he aims to build on the solid foundation laid by Kana and bring added value to the system.
