The Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed, has urged Nigerians to stop portraying the country in a negative light, stating that such actions discourage investors and tourists. Speaking at the unveiling of the Nigeria Reputation Management Group, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Mohammed emphasized the need to project a positive national image to attract foreign direct investment.
He noted that negative comments about Nigeria could hinder the government’s efforts to bring in investors, saying, “We are working to bring foreign direct investments into the country, yet we quickly say things that push investors and partners away.”
The minister encouraged Nigerians to be objective while also highlighting the country’s strengths, adding that promoting a positive image is crucial for Nigeria’s growth and international standing.
