Manchester United is reportedly gearing up for a bold acquisition of Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.
According to sources, Dan Ashworth, the sporting director for Manchester United, has reached out to Chelsea regarding the potential transfer of the England international forward.
At 29 years old, the winger has found himself sidelined as Chelsea looks to streamline their roster.
Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, has made it clear that Sterling is no longer part of his plans, and it seems the club has privately advised him to explore other opportunities.
Having been excluded from team activities, reports from Chelsea’s official handle indicates that Sterling has lost his squad number, which has now been given to new signing Pedro Neto, who will wear the iconic number 7 shirt.
