The Lagos State Government launched an operation to demolish illegal shanties housing squatters beneath the Elegbata Bridge near Apongbon.
The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources,Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the operation in a video shared on X.com on Sunday.
He explained that the demolition is part of a broader initiative to uphold public order and ensure Lagos remains clean, safe, and organized.
Wahab said, “Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (#LAGESCOfficial) have dislodged illegal squatters under the Elegbata Bridge by Apongbon.”
