Youths from Kogi State have donated N100 million to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support the procurement of the Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

The APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, received the donation at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, describing the gesture as unprecedented and a strong symbol of growing youth confidence in the leadership and performance of the President.

He said the contribution represents a defining moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey, noting that the youths were not seeking personal benefits or political appointments but were motivated by a genuine desire to support the President’s continuity in office.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Yilwatda acknowledged the President’s commitment to youth inclusion, highlighting what he described as the unprecedented appointment of young Nigerians into strategic leadership positions across the military, party structures and public sector. He said the policy has redefined youths not as “leaders of tomorrow,” but as “leaders of today.”

According to him, “The Kogi youths cited measurable improvements in the economy, positive national indicators, enhanced security in their state, and inclusive governance as reasons for their action.”
He added that President Tinubu, in collaboration with the Kogi State Government, has strengthened security through decisive military support and the provision of logistics to curb criminal activities in communities.

Yilwatda also commended the infrastructural and social development initiatives of Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, particularly in road construction, cultural revitalisation, youth empowerment and leadership development programmes such as the RISE initiative.
Speaking at the event, Governor Ododo appreciated the President for what he described as fatherly leadership and unwavering support for Nigerian youths, noting that no administration in the country’s history has created as much space for young people in governance as the current one.

Also speaking, the Kogi State Youth Leader, Aridaojo Anyebe, assured the party that the youths have made contingency arrangements and set aside additional funds to cover any possible upward review of the nomination form cost.
