The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Delta State Command, confirmed the release of its officers who were kidnapped last week.
The officers were abducted on Thursday night near the agency’s head office located off Isah-Ogwashi-Uku Road in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State.
According to reports, the officers were ambushed by armed hoodlums as they were leaving work around 8 p.m.
Mr. John Kennedy, the spokesperson for the NDLEA’s Delta State Command, confirmed the release of the officers on Monday in Asaba, stating that they were freed on Sunday night following extensive pressure from the agency and other security agencies.
He clarified, “I want to confirm the release of our officers.
They were freed on Sunday night after much pressure from the agency and other sister agencies.
The senior officer was not abducted along with his orderly as initially reported.
Instead, the senior officer was kidnapped separately, while another officer was taken from a different location entirely.”
