The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has called for increased participation of women in the political landscape of the state.

Speaking to journalists after casting her vote at Nagari Science College polling unit in Birnin Kebbi, she emphasized the importance of women contributing to the democratic process.

“Our democracy must reflect the diverse perspectives that both men and women bring to the table,” she stated. “When more women actively participate in politics, it leads to greater contributions to our societal development.”

Hajiya Zainab highlighted the need for deliberate efforts to encourage and support women in engaging with politics.

She also praised the large turnout of voters, especially women, during the local government election, and commended the Kebbi State Electoral Commission (KESEC) for conducting a smooth and peaceful election across the state.
