The Kano State Government has donated N100 million to assist victims of the recent fuel tanker explosion in Majiya town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State. Governor Abba Yusuf announced the donation during a condolence visit to Jigawa’s Governor, Umar Namadi, at the Government House in Dutse on Thursday.
The tragic explosion claimed over 150 lives, with many others hospitalized due to severe injuries. In a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, Governor Yusuf expressed that the donation aims to provide relief to grieving families and support the medical treatment of the injured.
Governor Namadi extended his gratitude to the Kano government for its support during this difficult time and pledged that the funds would be used appropriately to help the victims.
In addition, Governor Yusuf also donated N100 million to traders affected by a fire disaster at Kano’s Kantin Kwari Textile Market, which destroyed 29 shops.
