Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Garba, presented cheques totaling N83,102,207.38 to 45 beneficiaries on Tuesday evening, aimed at supporting the families of deceased and injured police officers.
This initiative underscores the Nigerian Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, as outlined in a statement by the Command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna.
Haruna stated, “The presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries is a transparent demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families.
This gesture reinforces the Police Force’s dedication to supporting its officers and their immediate family members.”
The recipients included the next of kin of deceased officers and police officers injured in the line of duty. During the ceremony, beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, emphasizing that the funds arrived at a critical time.
“The IGP’s welfare scheme is a testament to the police force’s commitment to its personnel and their families. This initiative has benefited numerous families across the country, demonstrating the force’s resolve to care for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice,” one beneficiary noted.
