The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The development was disclosed on Friday in a statement by the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

According to JAMB, candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration. The Board noted that, for now, only result viewing is available, as printing of result slips has not yet commenced.

JAMB explained that the UTME exercise is still ongoing, adding that subsequent batches of results will be released progressively as marking and processing continue.

The Board also issued a strong warning against any attempt to manipulate or falsify results, particularly through the alteration of SMS messages received from its official platforms.

It cautioned candidates against misrepresenting their scores to parents, guardians, or the public, describing such actions as a serious criminal offence.

“Two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means,” the statement said.

JAMB stressed that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law, urging candidates to adhere strictly to official procedures and uphold integrity throughout the examination process.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a credible and transparent admissions system in Nigeria, as the 2026 UTME continues nationwide.
