The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 4,121,835 eligible Nigerians have successfully completed both online and physical registration under the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise as of April 28, 2026.

In its Phase II, Week 15 update released on Sunday in Abuja, the commission disclosed that 2,459,339 Nigerians completed online pre-registration, while 1,662,496 finalised their registration physically.

Providing a gender breakdown, INEC revealed that 1,841,494 males, representing 44.68 per cent, registered during the period, while 2,280,341 females, accounting for 55.32 per cent, completed the process.

The commission emphasised that the figures remain provisional. “This is a preliminary figure pending data clean up during the claims and objections by the citizens followed by the deployment of the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS),” INEC stated.

Further analysis of the data shows that young Nigerians dominate the registration figures. According to the commission, 2,836,995 youths aged between 18 and 34, representing 68.83 per cent, completed the process within the review period.

Meanwhile, 875,939 middle-aged registrants aged 35 to 49 accounted for 21.25 per cent, while 864,270 elderly citizens aged between 50 and 69 made up 8.84 per cent of total registrations.

INEC noted that the figures reflect continued public engagement with the voter registration process as preparations gradually intensify ahead of future electoral activities.
