Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has urged Christians to use the Lenten season for deep reflection, intercession, and unity, emphasizing the need for peace and development in the state and the country at large.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor encouraged believers to not only reflect on their lives but also pray for Nigeria’s progress amid global challenges.
Highlighting the significance of unity, Oyebanji called on people across political and religious divides to embrace peaceful coexistence, stressing that collective harmony is vital for Ekiti’s growth and development.
He also noted the concurrence of Lent with the ongoing Ramadan fasting, urging both Christians and Muslims to seize the spiritual period as an opportunity to foster love, peace, and mutual understanding among different faiths.
Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to security and development, the governor assured residents of ongoing efforts to make Ekiti a safe and attractive hub for local and foreign investment.
“We wish all our Christian brothers and sisters in Ekiti and beyond a fulfilling Lenten season. We seek your prayers and support for our administration and our beloved state, especially during this sacred period,” he stated.
