The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) issued a strong warning to the public to disregard fraudulent online publications claiming an ongoing recruitment exercise by the agency.
In a statement released on Friday by Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer Olusegun Ogungbemide, the FRSC clarified that no recruitment is currently underway and urged the public to exercise caution.
“The attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to publications by online platforms misinforming the public about ongoing recruitment of personnel into the services of the Corps.
This is to inform the public that the Corps is not recruiting at the moment, nor are there any immediate plans to do so,” the statement read.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, emphasized that all FRSC recruitment processes are conducted transparently and are officially announced through verified channels such as the agency’s website, social media accounts, and the National Traffic Radio 107.1FM.
The FRSC cautioned individuals against engaging with unauthorized persons or platforms promoting false recruitment claims, describing such activities as scams intended to defraud unsuspecting applicants.
“The Corps Marshal wishes to admonish applicants seeking to join the services of the Corps, as well as the general public, to disregard the fake and misleading publications,” the statement continued.
The agency also reiterated that it would not bear responsibility for any losses incurred by those falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.
“The public is hereby warned to avoid any engagement with scammers spreading this misinformation.
The Corps will not be liable for any consequences of such interactions,” the statement concluded.
The FRSC encourages the public to rely solely on official communication channels for updates and information on recruitment and other activities.
