The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Zamfara Sector Command has handed over ₦630,750 recovered from a road accident to Ibrahim Ahmad Karakkai, a relative of one of the victims involved in the crash.

The accident, which occurred on November 21, 2024, at Tazame village along the Gusau-Funtua route, was caused by wrongful overtaking and overspeeding. According to the FRSC, the crash involved a white bus with the registration number ABJ758XB and a Volkswagen Golf that lacked a registration plate.

In a statement on Sunday, Aliyu Kankara, the Sector Head of Public Education, explained that the FRSC Rescue Team promptly responded to the scene, evacuating the injured to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.

“Among the items recovered from the scene were three Tecno keypad phones, two Android smartphones, and cash totaling ₦630,750, which were later handed over to the victims’ relative,” Kankara stated.

Zamfara Sector Commander, CC Tijjani Iliyasu, took the opportunity to call on drivers to prioritize safety on the roads. “Drivers should adhere to traffic rules, avoid overspeeding, overloading, and dangerous overtaking to prevent accidents,” he emphasized.
