French President Emmanuel Macron warmly received Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Remi Tinubu on Thursday at the historic Foyer of the National des Invalides in Paris.
As part of the reception, President Tinubu inspected a ceremonial guard of honour, marking the commencement of his three-day state visit to France.
Expressing his appreciation, President Tinubu shared on his official X handle:
“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my friend, President Macron @EmmanuelMacron, for the gracious welcome this splendid morning at the start of my state visit to France.
Nigeria and France have a rich history of collaboration across various sectors.

President Tinubu arrived in France on Wednesday and was received by senior French government officials.
His visit is expected to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations, focusing on critical areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition.
This visit underscores the commitment of both leaders to deepen cooperation and explore new opportunities for mutual growth and development.
