Former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Patrick Adaba, has passed away at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness.
A family source confirmed his death to Arise News on Sunday evening, stating that the late politician had been battling health challenges for some time.
Born in 1946, Adaba attended public schools before earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1971. He also obtained a graduate certificate in Education from the institution.
Adaba held various government positions before being appointed Secretary to the State Government during Prince Abubakar Audu’s first tenure as governor of Kogi State. In 1999, he was elected Deputy Governor, serving alongside Audu in a joint ticket that brought Audu back to power at the state’s Lugard House.
