The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has alerted the public to a fraudulent list of ambassadorial nominees circulating on social media. In a press release dated Sunday, December 8, 2024, the ministry urged Nigerians to disregard the fake list and emphasized that no such appointments have been made.

The Acting Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, reaffirmed that the appointment of ambassadors remains the exclusive prerogative of the President. “No such appointments have been made in this regard,” the statement read, urging the public to dismiss the purported list.

The ministry assured the public of its commitment to transparency and accuracy regarding diplomatic appointments. It also warned against spreading misinformation on social media.

The statement concluded with a firm call to discredit the fake information, ensuring that all updates on ambassadorial appointments will be officially communicated.
