Panic broke out on Monday morning after a fire incident affected part of the Federal Secretariat complex in Abuja.
The blaze reportedly engulfed a section of the office of the Head of Service of the Federation, triggering alarm among workers and visitors within the government complex.
Eyewitnesses said the fire started early in the morning. According to reports, “the fire was first noticed at about 8:20am,” prompting concern as smoke spread from the affected area.
Footage circulating on social media showed thick smoke rising from the building as emergency attention was drawn to the scene. As described in the report, “social media footage showed plumes of black smoke billowing from the affected section of the building.”
The incident occurred at Section C of the Federal Secretariat complex, one of the major administrative hubs for federal government offices in the nation’s capital.
Authorities had yet to provide details about the cause of the fire or the extent of damage at the time of reporting.
