The Federal Government has announced that the final evacuation flight transporting 315 Nigerians from South Africa is scheduled to arrive in the country on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.
According to the ministry, the evacuation flight, to be operated by Air Peace, will depart South Africa at 1:30 a.m. and is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 6:30 a.m.
The returnees are among Nigerians who opted to come home following recent xenophobic attacks and security concerns in parts of South Africa.
The latest flight marks the conclusion of the Federal Government’s evacuation exercise, which has seen four previous flights bring hundreds of stranded Nigerians back to the country as part of efforts to safeguard the welfare and security of its citizens abroad.
The most recent evacuation flight returned 40 Nigerians to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting Nigerians wherever they reside and expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful evacuation operation.
