The Federal Government has officially released the results of the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) across the 110 Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) nationwide.
The results of the separate entrance examination into the Federal Government Academy (FGA), Suleja, were also made public.
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a press briefing in Abuja by the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Ahmad, alongside the Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Professor Ibrahim Wushishi, who handed over the results.
According to official data, a total of 64,578 candidates registered for the NCEE conducted on June 14, 2025. Out of this number, 61,290 candidates sat for the examination while 3,288 were absent.
The top score recorded was 202 out of a possible 210, achieved by 13 candidates, while 27 candidates scored the lowest mark of 1.
The examination also recorded 52 cases of malpractice—an unusually high number—comprising two candidates from Lagos State and 50 from Rivers State.
In the separate examination conducted for admission into the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, a total of 3,421 candidates registered. Of these, 3,141 sat for the test while 280 were absent. The highest score recorded in this category was 194, while the lowest was also 1.
Professor Ahmad reiterated that the government’s admission policy remains structured around a 60 percent merit quota, 30 percent based on state equality, and 10 percent for exigent cases.
She directed the Department of Senior Secondary Education to ensure a smooth and timely admission process in accordance with these guidelines.
Highlighting the growing preference for Federal Unity Colleges among Nigerian parents, the minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education in the colleges through improved infrastructure, better feeding systems, and professional development for teachers.
She described the release of the results as a significant milestone in the pursuit of excellence in basic education across the country.
