A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, has upheld the suspension of Ali Odefa as the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Odefa was suspended on October 4, 2024, by the executive committee of his Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State over alleged anti-party activities.
Challenging the action, Odefa dismissed the suspension as “null and void,” arguing that those responsible were not legitimate ward executives of the party.
However, in a ruling on suit no. FHC/AI/CS/182/2024, Justice Hilary Oshomah affirmed the validity of the suspension. The court directed Odefa to cease presenting himself as the PDP National Vice Chairman, emphasizing that the suspension was properly executed.
This decision marks a significant development in the internal affairs of the PDP.
