The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 12 members of a notorious armed robbery gang allegedly responsible for the gruesome murder of ARISE News staff member, Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, and a security guard, Barnabas Danlami, during an attack on Unique Apartments in Gishiri Village, Katampe District, Abuja.

According to the police, the suspects were apprehended following an intensive intelligence-led operation launched after the deadly robbery, which occurred last month. The gang was said to have terrorised several parts of the FCT before their arrest.

Police authorities confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation, with efforts ongoing to recover additional weapons and apprehend any remaining accomplices still at large.

The FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining public safety across the territory.
