FCT Minister Wike to Launch Road Construction and Law School Housing Projects

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, is set to inaugurate a series of critical infrastructure projects this week, including the construction of four new roads and staff quarters for the Nigerian Law School.

In a statement released on Monday, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communication and New Media, disclosed that six projects will be flagged off over the next two weeks.

Additionally, the administration plans to distribute new vehicles to security agencies to boost operational efficiency.

“Projects to be flagged off include the construction of Kabusa-Takushara Access Road, Kabusa-Ketti Access Road, and access roads to the new EFCC Academy site in Giri District.

Others include the design, construction, and furnishing of an office complex for the Body of Benchers; construction of 10 staff quarters for the Nigerian Law School in Bwari Area Council; and a 15km road from A2 Junction on the Abuja-Lokoja Road to Pia in Kwali Area Council,” the statement read.

The minister has actively engaged in site inspections over the past two weeks, visiting more than ten project locations to assess ongoing development in Abuja and its satellite towns.

Projects inspected include the construction of the Saburi-Dei Dei Road, rehabilitation of the 5km Dutse-Usuma Dam Road, and upgrades to the War College/Army Checkpoint and ancillary roads in Bwari Area Council.

Other inspected projects include: Reconstruction of the 25km Kwaita/Yebu Road in Kwali Area Council, construction of the 11km Yangoji-Sukuku-Ebo Road, rehabilitation of the Old Ushafa-LUD Road,construction of the 9km Paikon Kore/Ibwa Road, construction of the 11km Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria-New Market Road in Gwagwalada Area Council and dualization of the Dakibiyu District Road leading to the Abuja Court of Appeal Complex.

The minister also assessed progress on key arterial road projects, including the 11km Kuje Road, development of the 4km Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Road) from Life Camp to Ring Road III, and the 11.3km access road to the Judges’ Quarters in Katampe District.

Wike’s administration remains focused on enhancing infrastructure and living conditions across the FCT, these projects marks significant strides in the development of the capital and its surrounding areas.
