The iconic Brazilian soccer star has passed away at the age of 82, as confirmed by his manager, who disclosed that he had been fighting colon cancer.

He died in a hospital in São Paulo, Brazil, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that includes three FIFA World Cup titles and an astonishing tally of 1,279 goals across 1,363 matches.

Recently, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner made headlines by launching his YouTube channel, where he amassed over 48 million subscribers and set three records. However, his comments regarding Pele sparked a backlash on social media.

Ronaldo stated, “My goal is to hit 900 first, and then I’ll aim for 1,000. Every goal I’ve scored is documented on video, so I can back it up.

When Ferdinand brought up Pele, who is credited with scoring over 1,000 career goals, Ronaldo responded, “I respect everyone, but my goals come with proof.

He added, “If you want more goals, I can include those from training too. All my goals are on video, and I’ll show them to everyone later.”

Fans quickly took to social media to criticize the Real Madrid legend, with one user questioning, “Did he just take a shot at a deceased legend?

Another remarked, “What an insecure crybaby.

One fan expressed, “Athletes like Ronaldo and Kobe are truly detrimental to their sports, disrespecting others just to boost their own image.

A different user also gave his thoughts saying, “Show some respect for the legend, Pele, you clown.
