Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has won admiration online for a heartfelt display of respect towards Bose Ogulu, the mother of his industry rival Burna Boy. The encounter took place at billionaire Tony Elumelu’s star-studded All-White Christmas Party.

A viral video captured the moment Davido approached Bose Ogulu, who was seated alongside her daughter, to exchange pleasantries. The warm interaction quickly garnered praise from fans, with many lauding the singer’s maturity and respect.

One user on X (formerly Twitter), Iwunze (#IwunzeJC), remarked, “Normally, Davido has no problem. He is a free-spirited man. He loves and respects mothers a lot, regardless. And that is one of the reasons I like him.”

Another user, Ada (#AdaOkenwa1), wrote, “I don’t know who raised Davido, but all I can say is thank you. You did a great job.”

The moment also prompted reflections on the importance of love and mutual respect. FindingSolace (#lifeinsolace) tweeted, “Let love lead. It costs more to hate than to love. More of this in this space.”

In a similar vein, Uncle Floyd (#MRFLOYD_247) commented, “That’s the way forward… no matter the disagreement between you and your guy, keep the kids, siblings, and mums out of it. The spirit of love and a mother can’t be compared.”

Despite their long-standing rivalry, Davido’s gesture is being seen as a positive step, especially given the history of tensions between the two stars. Their feud has often played out publicly, with jabs exchanged through interviews and social media.

Earlier this year, Burna Boy dismissed claims that Davido helped him early in his career, accusing his rival’s fans of spreading false narratives. The tension between the two intensified when Burna referred to Davido as a “joke” in response to a fan, while Davido previously labeled Burna an “upcoming artist” during an interview.

Fans, however, see Davido’s respectful gesture as a reminder that humanity and kindness transcend industry competition. As one X user, K.A.Y.O.D.E (#Dhavidtips), succinctly put it, “A mother is always a source of love and strength.”

The viral moment highlights the unifying power of respect and love, even in the face of personal or professional differences.
