The administration of Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has announced the immediate dismissal of his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua. The decision was made public on Thursday night in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor.
In the same announcement, Governor Okpebholo approved the appointment of Patrick Ebojele as the new Chief Press Secretary. The statement emphasised that the change is part of the administration’s effort to “strengthen communication channels between the Government and the people of Edo State, ensuring clarity, transparency, and effective dissemination of Government policies, programmes, and activities.”
According to the release, Mr. Itua has been directed to hand over his duties and await a new assignment yet to be disclosed.
The Edo State Government expressed its appreciation for his service, recognising his contributions during his tenure as CPS.
