Philip Shaibu, recently reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, has officially resumed his duties and instructed his staff to follow suit.
In a video posted on X.com, Shaibu announced, “In adherence to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, I announce my official resumption to the office. God Bless Edo State, God Bless Nigeria.”
Shaibu emphasized that the Federal High Court’s judgment, which reinstated him, affirmed that his office was never vacant.
He urged employees who have not yet returned to work to do so immediately or face repercussions.
He also warned banks against processing transactions with his office without his explicit authorization, labeling such actions as illegal.
Shaibu expressed his sorrow over the recent killing of a police officer attached to the APC governorship candidate in Edo, confirming that suspects have been arrested.
He revealed that he has requested the state governor’s approval to reinstate his aides but is still awaiting a response.
