The Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, is scheduled to arrive in Abuja, Nigeria, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, for a two-day official visit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Foreign Minister, who is also a Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, will be received on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed.
The visit is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and China.
During his stay, Wang Yi is expected to hold discussions with his Nigerian counterpart, Yusuf Tuggar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja on Thursday, January 9, 2025. The bilateral talks will focus on enhancing cooperation between both countries.
As part of his engagements, the Chinese Foreign Minister will also pay a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
During this meeting, he will deliver a special message from Chinese President Xi Jinping.
This visit underscores the commitment of both nations to fostering stronger diplomatic and economic ties.
