President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday formally promoted the acting Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, to the rank of Lieutenant General in a brief ceremony held in the Presidential Office at the State House, Abuja.
“President Tinubu decorates acting Chief of Army Staff, Oluyede, as Lt. General,” read a statement from the president’s communications team.
This promotion follows Oluyede’s appointment as acting Chief of Army Staff last Wednesday, filling in for his predecessor, Taoreed Lagbaja, who has been indisposed for several weeks.
