Officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken over the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), an action the group has labeled an “unlawful occupation.”
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Monday, SERAP revealed that DSS officers are demanding a meeting with the organization’s directors.
The group has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene, urging him to put an end to what they described as harassment and intimidation by the DSS.
“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation, and attack on the rights of Nigerians,” SERAP demanded.
This incident follows SERAP’s call, just 24 hours earlier, for President Tinubu to direct the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to reverse the recent, allegedly unconstitutional, hike in petrol prices at its retail outlets.
