Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is scheduled to visit Nigeria on Tuesday to address a range of development challenges facing the country.
According to a statement from the foundation’s office in Abuja, Gates will meet with government officials, youth leaders, and partners to explore solutions in areas such as health, agriculture, poverty, and nutrition across Africa.
During his visit, Gates, along with other foundation leaders, will engage with experts who are advancing progress in primary health care, agriculture, and nutrition despite ongoing economic challenges.
In addition to these meetings, Gates will participate in a pan-African virtual dialogue focused on tackling malnutrition through integrated health, agricultural, and financial strategies. He will be joined by musician, educator, and humanitarian Jon Batiste for this discussion.
The statement also highlighted that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed over $7 billion through 2026 to support African countries and institutions in their efforts to combat hunger, disease, gender inequality, and poverty.
