Super Eagles stars Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi played key roles for Fulham in their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Fulham entered the match as slight favorites and dominated the early stages of the game, while Nottingham Forest focused on counter-attacks.
In the 19th minute, Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi had a golden opportunity to give his side the lead, but his volley flew just wide after connecting with a well-placed pass.
The first half saw limited chances, with Awoniyi’s only effort on goal coming in the 19th minute.
At halftime, Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo made a tactical change, substituting Awoniyi for Anthony Elanga.
