FC Barcelona were crowned LaLiga champions for the second consecutive season after a commanding 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clásico at Spotify Camp Nou.
Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres secured the decisive win as Barcelona moved 14 points clear at the top of the table with only three matches remaining, sealing the club’s 29th Spanish league title.
The triumph marked another major milestone for manager Hansi Flick, who has now delivered two LaLiga titles in as many seasons since succeeding Xavi Hernández in 2024. Barcelona have also won five trophies under the German coach.
The title-clinching victory came amid emotional circumstances for Flick, who remained on the touchline despite news of his father’s death emerging shortly before kickoff. Players from both sides wore black armbands and observed a minute’s silence before the match.
Barcelona’s players and coaching staff celebrated jubilantly at full-time before lifting the LaLiga trophy in front of their home supporters following another dominant domestic campaign.
The result also entered the history books as only the second El Clásico to directly determine the LaLiga title race, following the 2-2 draw between the rivals in 1932 that handed Madrid the championship.
Barcelona’s title charge represented a remarkable turnaround after trailing Madrid by five points earlier in the season. Flick’s side surged ahead during the second half of the campaign, while Madrid’s inconsistent run saw them surrender crucial points.
The defeat confirmed a second successive trophyless campaign for Real Madrid, who failed to secure silverware in any competition this season.
