Arsenal Fans Launch Petition Against £50m Move for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke

A section of Arsenal supporters have launched an online petition opposing the club’s reported £50 million move for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, sparking debate within the fanbase over the club’s transfer strategy ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 22-year-old England international has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal, with the North London club said to have submitted a formal bid to Chelsea as part of efforts to strengthen manager Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.

However, not all fans are in support of the move.
On Wednesday, a supporter using the alias Blaze Fifty created a petition on Change.org titled #NOTOMADUEKE, voicing frustration with what he described as yet another “underwhelming signing” by the club. The petition garnered over 2,000 signatures by Friday morning.

“Arsenal fans deserve better. We are so close to success and instead of capitalising on the squad we have, it seems we are moving two steps back just like in the past three transfer windows,” the petition stated.

Blaze Fifty also criticised the club’s reported interest in Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres, urging the Arsenal board to demonstrate greater ambition.

“Show some ambition. Repay the fans the same way we’ve backed the club for the past two decades,” the fan wrote.

Despite the backlash, club insiders told The Mirror that Arsenal have conducted extensive scouting on Madueke and consulted individuals familiar with his progress at Chelsea.

Madueke, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, is currently part of the Blues squad participating in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. He is expected to feature in the final against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

The controversy underscores the delicate balance between club ambition and fan expectations as Arsenal seek to mount a serious challenge for silverware in the upcoming season.
